Our Story
Malta's Water Design Studio
Since 2012, WaterArt Concepts has been mastering water into bathrooms that people live in. From a single insight about Malta’s stone architecture to a 200sqm showroom serving the island’s most demanding residential, hotel and commercial projects — this is how we got here.
Founded in Malta.
Designed for Malta.
WaterArt Concepts was founded in 2012 by Michael Schembri with a single insight: that Malta’s stone buildings needed bathroom products designed for their realities — not products designed for other markets and shipped here. The company’s first innovation was a shower tray that could be cut to fit the irregular angles of older Maltese properties. It solved a problem that had frustrated Malta’s builders and homeowners for years.
From that starting point, WaterArt grew into the island’s most complete water design studio — adding tiles, sanitaryware, bathroom furniture, outdoor spas and kitchen fittings to a range that now serves homeowners, interior designers, architects, property developers and hotels across Malta and Gozo. In 2012 we opened our 200sqm showroom at JoinwellFXB, Mriehel, in partnership with the FXB Group.
Why We Call Ourselves
a Water Design Studio.
The word 'studio' is deliberate. A shop sells products. A studio designs outcomes. WaterArt Concepts starts with your space — its dimensions, its light, its architecture — and works outward to specify the products that will make it extraordinary. Every category we stock, from floor tiles to outdoor spas, is chosen because of what it does to water in that space.
